McGarvey starts Sea Grape in Parrot Cay at Naples Reserve
March 13, 2017

McGarvey Custom Homes has started construction of its furnished Sea Grape model in the Parrot Cay neighborhood at Naples Reserve. Naples Reserve is a 688-acre gated community being developed by iStar midway between Naples and Marco Island along the U.S. 41 East/Collier Boulevard corridor that presents a water themed lifestyle.

The community features 22 interconnected man-made lakes that comprise 40 percent of the site. Upon completion, the community will include approximately 1,154 lakefront residences. Naples Reserve features one- and two-story architectural designs that reflect the community’s relaxed ambiance and waterfront setting. Lakefront amenities include a completed clubhouse.

Parrot Cay takes advantage of the community’s water and preserve views. Twenty-six of the neighborhood’s residences will front a 300-by-800-foot lake at the center of Parrot Cay. Another 22 sites front a lake that is navigable by electric powered boats, kayaks, and canoes. A Loop Road water underpass will provide access to a mile-long lake. Parrot Cay is also adjacent to Naples Reserve’s Linear Park that offers opportunities for biking, hiking, and jogging, and a landscaped Nature Park. Parrot Cay will include 79 residences at build out on 85- to 95-foot wide home sites.

McGarvey’s Sea Grape model in Parrot Cay will showcase an interior design by Jinx McDonald Interior Designs’ Minka McDonald, ASID & LEED, AP. Designed by Weber Design Group, the Sea Grape’s 3,155-square-foot under air floor plan includes a wide entry foyer that leads to a great room, island kitchen, and dining area that open to an outdoor living area with a 740-square-foot covered lanai, outdoor kitchen, pool and spa. A wet bar is included in the great room. The plan also features a study, three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, and a two-car garage. The master bath includes two large walk-in closets, double vanities, a free-standing tub, and a double entry walk-in shower.

McDonald created an interior with a calm, serene feeling that reflects Parrot Cay’s relaxed waterfront lifestyle. Her tone-on-tone aesthetic includes ultra-soft greens and blues, both of which are presented with a subtle gray tint. Washed gray backgrounds will play against 24-by-24-inch porcelain tile flooring that will be presented in a linen color with gray striations. The relaxed look is accented by teal blown-glass accessories and pops of color.

Visitors will be introduced to the Sea Grape in a foyer that features a gray and white linear glass tile flooring detail that surrounds polished solid silvery-gray porcelain tile that suggests the look of an inlaid carpet. A magnificent ceiling detail introduces McDonald’s calm, coastal feeling and includes a white tongue-in-groove treatment in a large square shape with mitered corners that casts the illusion of a square turning in on itself. A chandelier with glass spears the drip down like teardrops is complemented by polished nickel clear glass sconces that flank the entry to the study off the foyer.

While the palette in the living areas carries McDonald’s soft green with gray undertone theme, she has created a stunning feature wall in the great room. A long low-profile built-in console in a dark gray finish will be set against a white painted tongue-in-groove background flanked by open niches that will continue the white tongue-in-groove background treatment. Furnishings with a cottage-like feeling will face the feature wall. The wet bar will feature a dark gray base cabinet, a white quartz counter top, and a subway tile backsplash with a soft, pale green hint of color.

The cottage feeling is continued in the kitchen where a tray ceiling treatment is finished with white painted tongue-in-groove and pendant lighting fixtures suspended over a dark gray island with a light solid surface counter top. Three counter stools set at the island will have an industrial look with a washed gray finish and rust seats. The perimeter cabinetry will be presented in a lighter tone of gray against the light toned counter tops.

The dining room features white tongue-in-groove running from the chair rail height down to the baseboard. Three tall sections of clear mirrors are framed and trimmed with white painted flat stock. The simple mirror treatment continues the cottage feeling and is complemented by a long rectangular washed gray farmhouse-style trestle dining table. Above it is a long oval antique nickel pendant with a large oval drum shade.

The soothing color palette is continued in the master bedroom where a soft gray carpet plays against a Phillip Jeffries navy blue woven headboard with a linen fabric overlay. The tufted headboard and greige fabric upholstered bed are surrounded with light gray washed wood trim. The lighter tones of the bed are contrasted by softly undulating, serpentine shaped dark gray nightstands. A long dresser matches the light gray headboard trim.

The master bath presents soft, very refined white tile with light gray striations that convey a gentle sense of movement. The two entries to the walk-in shower are flanked by light gray tile that extends from floor to ceiling. Three windows are accented by a surrounding chicklet accent tile in a mix of silver, white, ivory, and grey.  A freestanding tub plays against warm gray vanity cabinetry, white solid surface counter tops, and decorative lighting fixtures.

The Sea Grape is McGarvey’s second furnished model in Parrot Cay at Naples Reserve. The 3,507-square-foot High Tide model was named recipient of the Overall Excellence in Construction and Design award in the $1,501,000-$1,750,000 category during the 2017 Collier Building Association’s Parade of Homes that ends today. The residence features an interior by Jinx McDonald Interior Designs. The floor plan includes a great room, island kitchen, and dining area that opens to a 1,132-square-foot screened outdoor living space with a year-round kitchen, fireplace, conversation and dining areas, and a pool and spa. Ideally suited to Parrot Cay’s lakefront lifestyle, the plan offers four bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths, a study and a three-car garage. The High Tide model is priced at $1.595 million, with furnishings.

In keeping with Naples Reserve’s southern coastal architectural style, the High Tide model’s design is based on the relaxed breezy charm of an Old Florida home. Playful colors contrast with white and neutral grays to present a cheerful ambiance. The exterior is finished in a Caribbean sea blue with light green Bahama shutters and white trim work. Inside, the main living area walls are painted a soft but lively green above white bead board topped with a white chair rail. The flooring in the living areas is gray-beige wood-look tile.
